It’s a lot of things I like in a car. Big, V8, comfortable, quick. Like a budget Jag XK.
Also, driver centred centre console. EXACTLY like a Supra.

downside to it, think how much it will wallow in corners.
so obviously Miata in this case truly IS the answer.
;)

From personal experience I know it can out-corner an e36 at least.

Believe it or not, more complicated than an xk too.

They’re the last of the personal luxury coupes. I wouldn’t say they’re a budget Jag XK, they’re more of an alternative Lexus SC400.

I really hope Schaeftt takes this to the Europpomeet, I want to see how ridiculous it looks going around the Nürburgring.

It’s like an American 6-series.
10/10 would hoon.

I feel a strange mix of worry, paranoia and pride in ‘Murica at that fact.

Try overlooking one of these. I bet you can’t without a ladder.

Is your e36....Missing suspension components? Ive driven both aggresively (albeit the e36 was an m car) and if you’re serious...I’m just plain baffled

What’s that souped up taxi doing in this pic?

Just hope you never have to change the fucking valve cover gaskets. The DOHC Modular is a very tight fit in the FN10.

not sure how much you googled in to it, but there are quite a few “built” mark viii’s out there with some impressive numbers being laid down for a luxo coupe of this era. I struggle with the exterior styling otherwise I’d look in to one.

They’re a tight fit in EVERYTHING.

Photobombing the purebred racecars again I see.

The compact uses the old e30 rear suspension which makes it very very tail happy, so cornering speeds are fairly low due to the lack of grip.

I followed it on some twisty roads and it coped really rather well, even with its leaky airbags. Its currently not in use due to said airbags, not sure when he plans to fix it.

I actually did know that about the compacts, just didnt notice that yours was a compact. Also did some research and found out I drove a genI Lincoln, which has worse steering and overall dynamics than the genII (Which maybe you have?). Either way cool collection

It was especially bad because it was based on the MN12 which wasn’t originally going to have a V8 at all. IIRC they had to rework the Windsor a bit to get it in there.

I saw a really clean silver one cruising the interstate the other day it looked lowered a bit or just worn suspension. It looked wonderful and I wanted one of my own for road trips.

Unfortunately only the e36 is mine, the others belong to other oppos. Schaefft owns the lincoln, I dont know a huge amount about it haha.

Indeed. The hood height on the MN-12 cars made it necessary to redesign the intake manifold on the 5.0 Windsor motor. In doing so, it sapped a bit of power from them....

I like them. Never driven one, partly for fear that I would find the build quality to be a letdown. One of my friend’s da has one that he drives sometime. Black paint makes it look badass, aftermarket exhaust makes it sound badass.

Nothing too complex on it really. The air suspension literally is a pump, a few height sensors and the solenoids and bags. And all of it is very easy to replace and (with the exception of the Unobtanium front shocks) fairly cheap. But yeah, those front shocks...

Its a pre-facelift, so “gen1". The gen2 struts are supposed to ride a bit more comfortable, but I’d be surprised if that means that it’s becoming a better corner carver. Maybe the fact that they were slightly deflated (car lower, suspension firmer) helped it a bit? :) I will definitely replace them with the newer design asap, finding Motorcraft ones is becoming pretty hard now though.

I never said it’s particularly complex per say, just that it is more so than the xk. That generation jag is surprisingly simple, and has lots of room to do repairs.
Which is another thing that makes the mark seem more complicated- the fact it was designed for a 6 doesnt leave much room.
